Spring Project - Deck

Well it is finally completed. 18x18 deck. Truck got a workout during the build hauling all the material. The 18 ft 2x6's were the most fun hauling. Hung out of the back an extra 10 ft (had the tailgate down).

hot tub, maybe in the future. I would like a pool but in our HOA we are only allowed in ground. That can get pricey. Plus then I would need a fence. It is a vicious circle. Next house will hopefully be on some acrage and I can do whatever I want.

Very nice job! No tables and chairs to enjoy it.( but I agree the hot tub would be better, lol)

yes I have a table and 4 chairs plus a few plastic ones. Just put them out yesterday since I finished the last part (stairs) on friday afternoon. Plus you can see the grill under cover in the pictures.

Here is my spring project, 640sqft patio and retaining walls. 1800 pavers and 1200 retaining wall blocks. 10 pallets of blocks, 7000 lbs. of sand, 10,000 lbs. of gravel. Poor truck needs a vacation. Had to have the pavers delivered.

Next is 430 feet of fence and a 20x40 inground pool "Once I get some more money"

Man fellas Idunno about that in ground pool. Here in Houston, TX I've got a lot of buddies that woudln't even think of doing this (myself included). Seems like if the ground shifted even a little you'd be SOL...stupid HOA.

 

What everyone think about ground shifts and what not?

Wing you pickup on the smallest things (No pun intended). The downspout is 10 ft. Gotta get the water away from the house. I am the only house in the whole subdivision that has those. I had a guy knock on my door asking where I got them last summer

I guess I'm just used to solid concrete foundations (no basements here) and all brick construction (very few all-siding houses here), so nobody really cares about water up against the house...And nobody would think to install something like that.

 

Anyway, I'll say it again...You did a GREAT job on that deck.

Solution..in ground hot tub.....excellent work on the deck, now break out that BBQ pit there. Q it up!
