Wierd Problem after trip today

Ok I had a long day.  Early morning hauled mulch and top soil home.  Then took off and went to the beach (lake michigan).  Stayed a few hrs (enough to get burnt).  Did some driving in some sand (gotta love the locker and BFGs).  Then we drove up to our summer cottage (trailer) to cut the grass.  Drove about 100 miles 55-65mph all in D (overdrive) and 60% the time in cruise.  I pull off the main road and come to a stop sign and start to go and i heard a noise.  Next stop sign same noise.  So i turn the radio down come to a complete stop and take off again.  Same noise i though it was coming from the rear end but gf said no its coming from up front.  Next time i heard it i did agree it was coming from upfront.  Well we got there and i crawled under to check things out (the noise sounded like something was broke off).  Everything was fine.  So i started the truck up and drove up and down the street but the noise never came back.  Drove home and noise is gone.  I am thinking it could have been the trans?  Like a rough (had loud clunking) start? Going from a complete stop to hitting the gas could have caused this.  Also it seems like it was computer related cause after i turned the truck off it never came back.  Also no warning lights or anything.  Truck ran fine and i just rolled over 27K

That grass is real fun to cut when it is 90+ degrees and 100$ humidity

If it's a "clunk" it's the same noise I've heard on my truck, not all the time and only when I take off at a stop sign.  I spoke with the service manager at the dealership here and he said it's the slip joint.  They are going to replace it then I take the truck in this Thursday to have the rear windows replaced for "whistling" noise on the highway.  :music:

Can relate to the grass, did Granny's yesterday with a temp of about 90 and humidity near 100% as well.  As for the truck, your symptoms sounded like the "driveline clunk" but it wouldn't go away like that as you described I would think.  No other guesses from me on it.  Love the indigo blue pictures...can only look at mine so often:)

If sounds like the rear slip joint, which after handing the

TSB from AllData to the Service Manager refused to replace

in our truck. The Technician instead ordered a new rear differential carrier, and greased the slip joint. The carrier was never shimmed properly and now I have a loud clunk, and oh ya, the "squack, bump squeak" noise from the rear slip joint, my original complaint has returned. The GMC Dealer refuses to

install the nickel plated yoke.

Have a great one!

Want to mow my 23 acres in S.E MO? It's been 88-95 here with 95+ humidity. I do most of the cutting with my ATV pulling a "bush-hog". My wife likes to keep the grass around the house really short because of the snakes...aka cottonmouths! She uses the 38" ride on mower.

Last year I was on the ride-on and went over a yellowjacket nest, got stung something awful. At least I can outrun them on the ATV!

BTW, if you'll mow the place, I'll let you fish the "pond". Farm raised catfish and blue gill a plenty!

We have a POS sears (forrest gump) rider.  It works i guess.  My dads friend found it in an alley and let my dad have it.  Needed a little work.

I have you beat me and my cousin drove a rider into a lake.  Pretty scary at the time but funny 5 seconds after it happened

Also last yr i was cutting (by pushmower) down by the lake and forgot there was a nest of bees in the RR ties.  I got stung by a swarm of em.  Never in my life was i ever stung previously.  It hurt like a SOB

An atv mower would be cool how much does that cost?  Id like one to also put a plow on for winter
