Fuel pump problem

I installed a new fuel pump on my 89 S-10 last night and now it will not start. It will crank with starter fluid but goes dead. I can hear the fuel pump run about 2-3 seconds and then a coupld of clicks under the hood. What do I need to check to see what the problem is?

Have you checked the codes fron the service port OBD (12=*_**) is all OK?

I have a similar issue but codes are OK(12) but no fuel to the injectors?
