2004 2500 HD 4x4 DIC problem

inquiring about this for my brother, he has a 2004 2500 HD 4x4, the DIC will only show DRIVER 2,,,, and nothing else,, he cant get it to give him any more info,, could it just be a problem in the steering wheel buttons??? i checked alot of forums out and this one really looked to be the best,,,alot of good people and info on here!

First you have to have the redundant steering wheel controls to access the DIC fully. If you have that, then the top button on the lower right hand side of the steering wheel will allow access to personalize the settings. If that button doesn't work then you have a faulty button or wiring.

anyone know how expensive it is to replace the steering wheel switches for the DIC and how difficult a job it is????

I seriously doubt that you can buy the buttons separately. You can get a brand new replacement button steering wheel from GM for about $ 170 if you shop around.

Did he try unlocking using the driver 1 remote and driver 2 is still displayed?

On my 04 which remote you open with determines driver 1 or 2.

Im not sure which remote he was using,, but he is not really worried about which driver it shows,, the problem is that showing DRIVER 2 is the only function he can get on the screen,, he cant get it to do anything else... i will tell him about the different remotes though,, thanks
