I have a 2001 Silverado extended cab with the 5.3L.  Current mods consist of true dual catback Flowmaster 50's, and a K&N FIPK intake.  Now, while those mods alone gave me a pretty good performance boost, I am wanting a little more.  My question is, just how much of a boost, if any, will I get by swapping out my belt driven fan with an electric.  If there is a boost, what brands should I be looking for?  Also, what is the difficulty level involved with this project?

Getting rid of the clutch fan will give you a power boost, 10 - 15 HP under the right circumstances - the current favorite is the http://www.flex-a-lite.com/auto/270_280.htm - easy install once you figure out how to get the stock clutch off.
