Endlessly Calibrating Mirror Compass

My compass in my rear view mirror is always in calibration mode.   :idontgetit:

 

When I first got the truck it was fine, then after a couple of weeks it would go into calibration mode about once a week.   :ehh:  

A couple of weeks later it would go into calibration mode twice a week.  :plainsmile:

Now it's constantly in calibration mode and rarely ever working right.   :angry:

 

I've had no problems with my truck and I hate to take it in to the dealer for something so trivial but I hate it when things don't work.

 

Anybody else had a problem with this?

 

(No, I don't have a magnet hanging from my mirror either  ;)   )

If you've been driving around in circles three times everytime you calibrate your mirror, and it's still screwing up, and if you are still under warranty, then definatly take your truck to the dealer.  That mirror is an expensive option that should be working for you all the time...

Yeah, I've driven around in circles to reset it and that does work, however, it rarely lasts for a day now and I'm not going to drive around in circles every day to calibrate it.  I was afraid I got a lemon (just the compass).  I hate taking it in for this...  :angry:

 

GM Repairman:  What can I do for you?

 

Cititruck:  I need my mirror/compass replaced under warranty please.    Oh... and I need my tires replaced too because there all worn off on one side from driving around in circles trying to recalibrate it.  ;)

Sorry to here, I'm having the same problem about once a week it's looks like it's recalibrating and then the next time I drive it it's ok.  Mine is not under warranty any more so if anybody has any more bright ideas other than doing donuts in parking lots lets here it.
