BURNED A 2" HOLE IN MY SEAT!!!

Yes you heard it right, there is a 2-3" hole in my front passenger side seat!!! How did this happen you may ask? Me and a friend were spot-lighting (hunting) at one of my friends' property (150 awsome acres right on the Brazos Valley River near at town called Chappel Hill, TX). Anyway, I shot something and I went over to take a look, called my friend over, (he was operating a 1,000,000 candlepower Q-beam spotlight plugged into the cigerette lighter), and he puts the light down on my seat still on (it has an on-off switch rather than a trigger). We get back to the truck about 30-45 seconds later and I smell something burning. Needless to say, it had melted a HUGE hole right through the thick fabric right to the foam!!!!!! I was F*CKING PISSED!!!!!! But the night went on. Called the dealership in the morning and they say $400 for a new seat cover, and $200-400 to put it on!!! Thats a $600-800 hole in my seat. A little while later, he signed his tax-return check over to me, so all is well. This happened a few months ago.

wow, 200-400 to install a seat cover, I guess they don't calll them a "stealer" for nothing.  That's about a what, hour job.  You could take the 800 bucks that they'd charge and get a full leather interior or something, geez, what a rip off.

Yea, but thats what you get when you live in a town (Brenham, TX) with 16,000 people and only 1 GM Dealership. Its called "La Roche". Mainly a Chevy and GMC dealer but they got alot of those new Caddy avalanches too. This is one OVERPRICED and not to friendly dealer, well atleast not courtious to a 19 year old "kid". I had them replace my 2 front low-beam bulbs the other day cause 1 went out, took about 20min of explaining, another 15min for them to pull it in, I even left the a/c blasting for them, and then about 20 more dang minutes to for them to replace the bulbs! I even helped, i took the headlights out and the bulbs. I told him, this bulb is burnt out, and the other one is going out. He starts saying I might have an electrical problem cause if you tap the bulb, it will light up (the broken fillement will touch...). Trying to stay calm in about 157*F and 215% humidity, I finally got that moron hillbilly to put 2 brandnew bulbs in.

that sux.  the chevy and ford dealers around here are pretty good.  the dodge/jeep dealer is the only one around for quite a distance and they know it.  they are horrible.  back when we had our 85 cherokee, we took it to them for service (had no where else to go) and they left their tools under the hood!!  the jeep was spilling tools all over the parking lot!

Have you replaced the seats yet?  I have to agree w/everyone else on this one.  I would find a used power, leather interior for that price.  You might even be able to order a new one from one of the online parts dealers we know for that price.

I happen to have a full set of factory LS seat covers..  Only they are gray not graphite.  You could use them for a 2-tone look like mine.  They are like new, since I had custom leather covers installed right after I got the truck.

See pictures of them under the pics section of my website.

If interested, PM me and make me an offer and their yours.  I will only sell them as a full set.

Yeah, those Max-Millions are some awesome lights for the price.  They do get pretty hot though (Duh!).

Mark/mpalombo, Thanks.

No I have'nt fixed that damm hole yet. BTW, they are 6-way power'....

chane, I'd want the graphite color. I checked out your seats, DAMN, thats looks AWSOME! How would I go about getting custom leather?

I went to the local junkyard, and if I drove an old LTD, i'd been luck!!! Not a single Silverado/Seirra out there.

If you where 'hunting' with a spotlight I don't feel sorry for you at all.  Where I live if you did something like that it would cost you alot more than 800 dollars - you're entire truck would be gone, sitting in an impound yard.  Maybe you should take this little mishap as a sign to start hunting the sporting way like the rest of us.  Just my opinion.
