Rebates / Incentives on 2006 2500HD CC w/ Duramax

I am going to purchase another Chevy 2500HD this week to use for work/church. I know on July 31st one local dealer told me that the rebates on a 2006 Chevy 2500HD 4X4 Crew Cab Duramax LBZ LT3 truck were 4000 dollars. The other dealership in town (which I consider shaddy) told me that rebates were only 3000 dollars. I live in Lexington Kentucky / Southeast Region for GM I believe. I would be grateful for any help in additional rebates or any GM employee codes or discounts some can shed light on. The dealer said he would sell the truck for 41,000 (invoice) minus rebates. I would hate to get all the way to the end only to have the dealer find his thousand dollar rebate mistake. Thanks in advance.

I looked at a new 06 Duramax here in Florida about two weeks ago. The reabates were $ 3K.

Did you end up with a good deal?

 

For everyone else, anyone buy a regular cab or extended cab 6.6 LBZ diesel very recently and get a really good deal? Whats the most basic LBZ combo with a regular cab and pretty much the lowest price you can realistically expect. It seems the spectrum on diesel pricing is so wide, even on the 2wd WT reg cab.
