Help With Powered Sub

Ok in January I replaced my head unit CD player with a Dual in my 99 Silverado extended cab. I basically did it to get a auxillary input for my ipod. Works great. What a difference in sound. I figured while I'm goin that far I should replace the front and rear speakers. I put the Pioneer 6.5 4 ways in the door and the Pioneer 4x6 2 way in the rear. I acutally think I lost some bass over the stock paper speakers but the highs are incrediable. This truck never had very good bass or sound. Which I dont' understand because my stock 99 suburban has steller bass for a stock system and so does both of my buddies 2002 Crew cabs.

Anyway, Now I have ordered a infinity Basslink which is a 10 sub with built in amp. What is the best way to wire this? Do I run a power wire all the way to the battery? Or can I tap into the fuse panel. Should I buy nice long RCA cables to get from the head unit to the Amp? Any suggestions would be great. Anyone have one of these in their truck? Oh yeah, the Basslink will fit under the rear seat but do I run the bracket in with sheet metal screws right through the floor?

Thanks

I wouldn't screw through the floor. It ill probably be a tight fit enough to stay put. If you do drill through be sure to seal it up with silicone. You will need RCA cables from the head unit, a remote wire (for turning the amp off with the ignition) from the head unit, and a 12V supply. I always go from the battery with an inline fuse under the hood. It's not that much more trouble and you don't want any noise from any other electrical stuff on the line to your amp. Oh yeah, you'll need to ground it too which can either be at the battery or any bare metal.

The instructions will show you all of it. If it has the inputs for speaker wires, don't do it - you'll be disappointed. Run the RCA cables (you have to get to the back of the head unit anyway for the remote wire)

Thanks for the help guys. I pretty much new what to do but always good to get advice. The hardest part of the job was finding an entry point through the firewall for my 10 guage power wire. There just so much clutter under the dash and on the other side you have mastercylinder, steering, electrical and so on. I ended up fishing a wire through another electrical gromet with a ton of other wires. Worked out well.

The Basslink is amazing. Much better than I even thought it would be. I do have the complete system now.
