89 K1500 question

Hello all,

I have recently acquired a very sweet 89 K1500 4x4. I have a question, it is an auto, and the little PRND21 indicator in the left of the dash is stuck on "P". Is this a common problem, and is there an easy fix?

Alot of times there is a little spring that controls that arrow needle which will snap off or a plastic tab holding it in place will snap off, might be able to repair it from a junked truck at a salvage lot.
