Crossmember Swap???

Ok since my truck is lowered, many times when the road is uneven or bumpy o tend to smack my crossmember on the ground and am worried about my tranny, i was told from a friend that i can get one off a Corvette and it will fit giving me a few extra inches of clearence, has anyone heard of this or think of anyways this would not work, just want to hear what yall think before i buy one. thanks

I think not, which crossmember in particular? I don't see any chance of any Corvette cross member fitting your truck. When was the last Corvette produced on a ladder frame... 70's...

not sure he just said a corvette crosmember, i dont know much about vettes so help me out

I have never heard of it nor tried it but the VAST structural differences between any Corvette and any Truck make me think its not possible. The only think that might be interchangeable is smaller things like motor mounts or accesories. While the blocks may be similar or something to that affect the chassis' are just too different.

 

What about adding some skid plates like off a Z-71, those would very likely fit, and while not giving more ground clearance would give some additional protection.

I Belive that Devious customs has a crossmember for your truck that replaces the Factory one.

Hey i called them and they make one that fits flush with the bottom of the frame for 75.00 thanks alot
