I have researched this for years...i would love the idea of having the rear "lock" on command (even though mind is 2wd)

I have E-lockers in both my diffs and they work flawlessly. The best thing about them is that you can lock and unlock your diffs when YOU want and not based on wheel slippage or engine speed. IMHO, They are an excellent choice for your truck.

Can you elaborate on the engaement and disengagement process. At what speed and at what transfer case positioning (4Hi, 4Lo, N) ?

From what i gather, it uses a magnetic switch on the outside of the differential, and when you press a button, it locks the axle together solid, so that both wheels spin at the same rate.

 

 

Basically, you control when it locks, vs. a G80 Limited Slip or Posi, where it uses a mechanism to load bearings and other hoopla into locking it.

Go to this website and it will tell you everything you want to know about the E-locker(http://traction.eaton.com/prod1.htm) You can engage it in any T-case position but you cannot be moving faster than about 3 mph.

+1 vote here... I had one in my Bronco and loved it, have one sitting on the workbench waiting to go into the truck when I swap the gears...
