RyanbabZ71 Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Anyone hear about this? My grandfathers funeral was Wed. Drove up Tuesday night. About 6 inches of rain fell Wed early morning and it caused a mess. Parents are still vacuuming and pumping water. I had to leave to go back home for work. Glad it is drier down here. It was pretty bad. Governor declared a state of emergency. For some reason my parents area lost phones. Called phone company and they wont be back up until Monday? Wow almost a wk? http://nwitimes.com/extras/flood/small.html
RyanbabZ71 Posted September 15, 2006 Author Posted September 15, 2006 Thanks, It was hard growing up about 5 blocks away and always seeing him and having him around. I am glad I was able to see him on Labor Day even though he was in the hospital. We thought after his surgery on Friday he was going to hang around a littlle bit longer but on Sunday he passed away. He found out in March he had cancer (all over). He will be missed.
Wingnut Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 My dad died of cancer, not an easy way to go.
RyanbabZ71 Posted September 15, 2006 Author Posted September 15, 2006 I just noticed the first pictrue (if you look at captions) Highland Southridge Elementary school, my girlfriends moms house is in the top middle of the picture. She went to visit yesterday and told me she had to park 2 blocks away. Wow I didnt know it was that bad. My aunt lives another 4 blocks from the school she had quite a bit of water

Wow almost a wk? http://nwitimes.com/extras/flood/small.html <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I wont be going down as i just got back from being out of town. But it is crazy down there. They asked for 20 people just from our garage alone and the pictures they showed were insane. The reasons for the phone being down that long? Its not a simple fix. Apparently our NOC and CO's flooded and cable Vaults are torn up. So its alot of work just to get people back in service and residential is bottom of the pile. Have to get 911 lines, Hospitals, Police and other emergency services running first. Wish your parents good luck, and im real sorry about your grandfather.
