Key fob wtf?

I saw an episode of top gear a while back where they said that if you were out of range for your key fob to work, you could hold it to your head and it would have a much longer range. They didn't seem to know why it worked like that...

Well today, I had to park my camaro waaaay far away from my apartment. I tried to lock the doors but it wouldn't work. So I tried holding it to my head and it worked! Anybody else know about this? Hopfully doing this wont further my messed up in the head condition

maybe it grounds out the transmitter and uses your body which is a ridiculous percentage of water as an extension of the antenna

I do this all the time....I place the key-fob against the side of my face.

Works everytime....really useful if you have auto-start.

Might have some weird health issue later in life that somehow will be linked to the RF of the vob. ;)

Your body is just being used as a big antenna. Kinda of like those cheap radios that fade out whenever you walk away from them...

Have any of ya tried holding it against another part of your body? Like your arm or something ?

Just curious if that works too, or if it has to suck out the brain waves to work.

I think you b*stards were all playing poker together, came up with the idea for this post (and subsequent corroborating posts), all put up fifty bucks, and declared that whoever was the first to spot some sucker with a key fob to his head would win the pot.

...serisously, does it really work?
