Rear locking differential

Hey guys, this is my second post, and I feel kind of dumb for asking, but...

 

is a rear locking differential pretty much the same as posi traction?

 

and if it isn't, does that mean if i wanted to do a burn out, only one of my tires would be spinning?

Both of mine lit up last week, I also have a 06 CC with the locker. Posi (aka limited slip) are two different things. Locker is preferable in my my book.

I guess here's the differance...from what i gather...

 

POSI/LIMITED SLIP---When one wheel spins faster than the other, aka loss of traction, the power starts to spin the other wheel to get out.

 

LOCKING DIFF---------When the power tire begins to slip, the rear locks, pushing both tires at the same time, equal speed.

The OEM G80 locker aka "Gov-Lock" differential is a big steamy pile of s**te!!
