Works great right after I get out of the car.. but lately, after a couple hours, it doesnt work anymore, none of the doors unlock, let alone the auto starter.. I have to open the car manually!!!!

Anybody run into this problem?

I lost the other FOB----damnit! so i havent tried it yet... but I dont think that would make a difference.. the one I have works fine... after I drive it, and walk away, I can lock it remotely, and then it stops working remotely like 10 mins later! any ideas?

Interesting, 10 minutes is the same amount of time you get to listen to the radio or use the power windows after you turn the car off and take out the keys. But when you open the door to get out and leave, that feature should turn off (battery rundown protection). Maybe something is wrong along those lines...power to the remote feature in the car turns off after 10 minutes? It shouldn't happen but maybe.

These cars also love to shut battery draining items down if they sit too long. Even OnStar turns off after a few days I am told.

Replace the battery in the remote just in case and also make sure the battery is not loose inside the FOB.

Any other ideas?

has anybody else had this problem???

YES! i have had this problem, i asked it on the 'ask a technician' page and got a good reply. Essentially, there is a problem with the receiver for the remotes, there is supposed to be a software upgrade to fix it, but until then you need to occasionally remove the fuse for the control module, then all will work again for awhile!

i actually had the software update done yesterday at the dealer, so we'll see if that fixes it. You should bring it in though, since they seem to have a fix now.
