I've never even had a full CAI give me any more power where I needed it (down low), and as for better MPG...Not really.

A lot of people say they get better mileage, but that's not been my experience, unless you have a tune to go with it. And the tune alone will give you better MPG without spending the $$ on the hardware.

A drop in may not give you much better mpg's or power, but since I needed a new filter anyways, I wanted one that filters better and is re usable. Their video sold me!

I cannot speak for the drop in alone, but the complete CAI including the filter increased my mileage almost 1 mpg and I will have to agree with their advertised HP and TQ gains. With everyday driving I really can see no difference but when towing my 6500 lb camper, it has definitly helped me from around 2,000 rpms on up. There dyno testing is done with the hood closed which is how we drive. Some CAI companies will show more power but it comes in at higher revs and some of them test with the hood open and a large fan blowing on the open filter element.

This is fine, but we just cannot drive this way.

You have heard me say it before, but after almost a year, I have absolutely not oil behind the filter and I am completely satisfied with it. Plus, it looks really great under the hood.
