factory overhead video output to in dash monitor??

basically i am trying to use the factory installed overhead dvd player as my primary dvd player to feed my factory installed nav unit dvd videos. i havent had a chance yet, but i hear that the factory unit has a large data cable up there instead of a standard, simple composite video cable output to run video signal out of it. has anyone performed this? or knows how to do this, or where i can get schematics on its wiring locations and color charts? . i really need to know!!! thanks!

We have done this many times. Pull the DVD down and the plug doing from the DVD to the screen is the one you want. I can't remember the Video color, but it was next to the audio which is brown(left) and black(right). They all enter a shield about 2 inches back that is connected to the plug too, use that for RCA shield.
