Traction Active light

I have a 2003 Yukon Denali with AWD, and on dry pavement when starting from a stopped position the Traction Active light comes on and cuts the engine off for a few seconds. On the first vist to the Dealer they could not duplicate the problem and ended up updating the software. Any thoughts??

Probably one of the speed sensors. Should be easy to determine which one by watching/capturing the data on a scanner when it happens. If the dealer can't duplicate it, it would just be a guess. Are there any codes stored?

If the dealer can't duplicate, then I guess that means it doesn't happen frequently? Is it possible you really are losing traction?

I am posting on this old post because I just had the same issue with my 06 Denali. It was the front wheel speed sensors that were warped and replaced under warranty. This will happen also if there is corrosion or dirt on the speed sensors as well. The sensor sends a false positive signal to the ecm that engages the traction control and retards the engine throttle control momentarily.
