ok, its a 1995 GMC 2500 with the 5.0 engine, auto trans, reg cab, long bed, headache rack, tool box, base model, 124k miles, less than 2k on tires, has duel fuel capability with propane tank under tool box. it has the grill with the square headlights, paint is fine, interior isnt awesome but its not bad. soo, about how much can I expect to sell this for in DFW area? Thanks.

That 5.0 engine is the worst part of the truck. Definitely underpowered. Expect $ 2,500-3,500.

so $5000 is not bad for a 1995 GMC 1500 pickup, 4x4, extended cab & Z71 offroad w/179K miles?

it has the 5.7liter and a 5 speed manual transmission. there is one available by me and I am going to check it out when it gets warmer. the high miles should not bother me, right? the guy sounds like he babied the truck and says it is free of rust.

1995 is by far the best to date. No other year can compete. Trans can be weak if you don;t have the towing pakage. I think the best looking is the 95 teal ext. cab Z71. If only I could find one I might need to paint one.

thank you,

what is so great about the trucks made in 1995?

it is teal but two tone with silver too.

do you think that this truck is worth $5K with the high miles?

edit, it does have the tow pkg.

Haha, the great debate. Personally I prefer 1994. The 95' interior ergonomics weren't very good where as the 94' ergonomics are awesome. Drivetrains are the same.

'95 had the same interior as the '96-'00 C/Ks, but had the old style tbi small block that came out in '87. Guess some may like the simplicity of this style engine, personelly I'll take the '96 and up for the vortec motor. Vortec 350s are the best of the 350 truck engines IMO....great power, reliability, and decent milege.

I thought those trucks had leakage problems on the plastic manafold in the rear on some years and fuel injector problems on all years.

vortecs for the intake but as far as injector problems my tbi has 220,000 miles and not a problem with it. However I do not know about vortec injector problems

Yep they will if you don't change the red antifreeze from time to time. Stuff eats the intake gaskets after awhile. My '98 vortec 350 has 157k miles and no leakage yet or injector problems...still originals in there. Truck doesn't leak or burn a drop of anything!!! Only mechanical break down I've had is one fuel pump.

Well, this probably won't help you a whole lot, but here it is anyway.

I just sold a 1995 Chevy C1500 reg cab long box with the 4.3L. Had 225,000 miles on it. Was in good mechanical condition (new ball joints & tie rods all around, new water pump, newer brakes, engine ran strong and trans shifted solid, etc), but there was slight collision damage to the front passenger corner (bumper, grill, and quarter panel) and some slight body rust (under the doors). Anyway, I got $1750 for that, that's here in lower Michigan (with the good ol Michigan economy :D ).

Hopefully this will provide somewhat of a point of reference. Considering this, I say at least in the 4-5k range, but again it all depends on the area, so could be more or less (hmm, this last part was a pretty obvious statement :banghead: ).

Also, remember kelly blue book (www.kbb.com), always a good reference.

Ahhhhhhhh, just looked at the original post date
