Tire Pressure

Hey guys.

 

I've got 265/75R16 BFG A/T's on the truck.  What kinds of tire pressures are you all running??

For normal driving I run 50psi.  When towing, I pump it up to 80psi.  But this is with the stock 245's and an "E" load rating.

 

You are running 265's which I think Gandolph (sp?) said was still in the "D" load range area so, you may not need to run as much as we do.

50 PSI should be good for every day driving.  More when towing, less when off-roading -

If you got a load range E tire, I think somewhere around 50psi would be just fine.  You can fine tune from there to whatever feels the best.  But, if you have a load range D tire that might be a bit too much.  I'd try somewhere around 40psi if that is the case.

He's got BFG 265's, must be "D" rated.  But didn't somebody post recently that they'd found a 265 or 285 with an "E" load rating?  I've yet to see one?   ???

As much as we switch from towing, hauling, and just running around we've settled on 60psi in all the tires.  So far so good.

I have Michelin 265 75R16 LTX M&S tires on my 2500.  They are load range E tires.

The Firestone 245's & 265's come in "E" rating (10 ply) - the 285/75/16 that was referred to is the Interco TrxUS
