Ive heard they work about the same as a regular turbo. And you dont need a intercooler, to cool the incoming air which is a BIG plus!

STS Turbo.

Usually about a 1PSI boost loss due to length of tubing, but the charged air is cooler since the tubes aren't trapped with the underhood heat. But an intercooler should be used to fully take advantage of the turbo.

Don't look where your air filter will be located. EEEWWW. Sucking all kinds of crap into it.

I kinda agree, I can't see this very practical for a daily driver. But from a performance standpoint, it is a great design. With pickem up trucks there is the possibilities on even bigger turbos since there is no underhood 'real estate' restrictions

I agree with you, but the rear mounted turbo's do sound pretty killer.

Sound just the same under the hood with a better Tial or TurboXS BOV!!!!!!!!!!!

And another reason I LOATHE rear mounted kits............. The 11 miles of oil line you have to run PLUS the super oil boost-a-pump you have to install. It is a janky, crappy engineered kit that will never find a place on my truck. For god sake, the oil return line is just tapped onto the oil filler cap!!!!!!!!

There are many, many, many better ways to put F/I on a truck!

Between the location of the inlet filter and the fear of running over something and having it tearing up a oil line..I won't do it.

Nelson Performance is making one using the STS system that looks like it has alot of potential.

It seems to me that an under the hood turbo with an intercooler would be more worth it.

Exactlly!!! Let that turbo heat soak. Thats how it was intended to operate.

HUGE front mount IC is the only way! The D-Max IC is starting to get used more and more among truck guys.

Also, Nelsons kit IS NOT A REAR MOUNT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
