Annoyance..Can anyone help???(real thread)

Hello,

I noticed this problem in the summer, but now that it is winter, it has become an annoyance.

The problem is there seems to be moisture or something getting into my door panels (02 silverado). I am located in Canada, so the negative temperatures are causing my windows (power) to be frozen shut. They will eventually (after 20 mins of running) loosen up, but my drive to work is less than 20 minutes, so I can't get my window down at all. I alway drive with the window down a crak because I like the fresh air.

I was not able to pinpoint when this was occurring in the summer, but now with the snow and the cold it is happening almost daily. I can put the window down on a dry day and when it comes back up from inside the door it is wet. If I do this in the evening, it will mean that my window will again be frozen shut come morning..

Has anyone had this problem, or can you suggest anything to resolve it. If it is a little confusing, feel free to ask for more info.

Thanks in advance!

First off, I would make sure the drains at the bottom of the door are clear. It is normal to have some moisture in there but it should not be enough to freeze the window shut. You could take the door panel off and see how wet it is on the inside. I have seen a little dampness but no more than that. Perhaps the weatherstripping at the window is bad allowing water directly in through the window. You could also do a stare and compare of the drivers door and the passenger door to see if anything is different.

Good Luck. What a pain.

I live in an area wher there are no hard freezes but window operation gets very sluggish. It always helps when I spray silicone lube on the tracks.

Never did get a chance to get the panels pulled off..

Mine will freeze also because the outside felt where the glass slides down into the door is saturated after rain or washing.
