It will not change anything - the violence and daily killings in Iraq will continue unabated and more American soldiers will die.

Yes they will, but if you do a little bit of research, California is a far more dangerous place to live, according to crime rates vs. war related things than Iraq is, but you never hear about it.

Just food for thought.

few people know that there's a law in iraq that states a person over the age of 70 cannot be sentenced to death.... april 28th he was going to turn 70. so the rush was on to have the sentence carried out prior to that date

Correct. If we were still over there in 20 years, it would be the same. Civil War or not, were still targets.

IMO we have better things to spend 2 billion dollars a week on.

I agree. Take that money and give it back to the people who earned it.

Just gotta realize in 70 years..theres still gonna be terrorists in Iraq. Theres terrorists all over the world, always will be. I dont see how us having troops in Iraq is keeping them off our turf. Terrorists can get into America with ease, occupying Iraq isnt gonna stop anything.

So I guess we should all crawl in a hole, think happy thoughts and everything will be alright? Dictatorist regimes harbor and promote terrorism, the Al-qaeda style and the suppression of their own peoples voices. The spread of democracy across the world decreases the strength of terrorism by limiting their operations; and sure terrorist live here but they have to work in secret unlike places like Iran and Palestine where they can and are encouraged to openly discuss operations.

I'm glad you didn't say that in German, Japanese or Italian.

you stole my thunder...Hussein only gassed about 10,000 kurds before we stopped with the appeasement. I'm curious where that line of thinking will get us with N Korea and Iran?

I can't believe what some of these posts are saying.

Saddam Hussein was a significant speed-bump on the road towards making things right in Iraq. Now, that speed bump is gone.

True, it's not likely to make a drastic overnight change for our Men and Women of service fighting over there. But it should help them in the long run.

One of the most Rotten Sons of b*tches of our time is gone. Can't we celebrate it?
