Thanks! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Cant see why it would be illegal, other than if you are abusing it and shouting obsenities at the idiot Ford drivers heh...just more of a use your common sense thing I would think. Most or all police/fire/ems siren units have the PA option as well as CBs so it seems a pretty standard thing. Of course, when in doubt, you can always ask an officer of the law
Nova5 Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Just don't use the PA horn to ask him while driving behind him... ;)
HyperBuzzin Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Here's one thing I found for Florida..... (although I'm not sure how complete the list is) Equipment Not Permitted You may not have on or in your vehicle: Red or blue emergency lights. These are for emergency and law enforcement vehicles only. A siren, bell or whistle. A very loud muffler or one that lets out smoke. Signs, posters or stickers on the windshield or windows (except those required by law). A television which the driver can see. More than two spotlights, cowl or fender lights, fog lights (in front), or other extra lights (in front). Headsets worn by driver while operating a vehicle.
popo Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 From your frendly neighborhood sheriff: They are Illeagal to use on the road way. they are however permitted for show and offroad use. There is a guy here in gainesville who plays the Gator fight song on his in traffic and we are all pretty tolerant. Just don't be stupid with it and you will be fine.

ZZebes Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 that no more than 2 off road lights is kinda gay.

He said "your vehicle". My vehicle happens to be an emergency vehicle I am curious on the one about "A very loud muffler or one that lets out smoke." ummmm isnt that what an exhaust is supposed to do?
Trouttrooper Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 that no more than 2 off road lights is kinda gay. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, like a lot of laws it came about because a bunch of idiots running down highways with 10 spotlights going and completly blinding oncoming traffic. If one wanted to get technical, those of us who have wired our headlights to have low + high + fog all on at once are breaking the law.
HyperBuzzin Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 If one wanted to get technical, those of us who have wired our headlights to have low + high + fog all on at once are breaking the law. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Also on the 'if ya want to get technical' side (atleast here in PA) ANY lights that aren't OEM are illegal. Including cab lights.
