5.3l exact engine size

I found some sweet decals I want to order off Ebay

1 bad thing, I've seen 3 different C.I.D.'s for the 5.3l, Ive seen 323 325 and 327. I thought it was a 323. Is it a 323 an marketed as a 327 or what?

According to my calculations, it came out to 325C.I. (rounded off, it was something like 324.8xxxxx)

5.3L = 323.42561 cubic inches.

The liter equals 61.0237 cu in.

I wonder why they even make them? It's not a 327!

Most MFR's round of the displacement. The 5.7L LS-1 Corvette is 347.83 & they call it a 350 ci. Its been done for years.

Sweet I knew they've always been rounded, but it didnt think they skipped a few inches. Good stuff.

Sam, I have decals on my True Flow Intake tube that read 327 Cu In. 300 Horsepower. You can see them in if you search this forum using "Interceptor" as your search word. It will bring you to a post of mine entitled Pics of My Interceptor and 327. If I knew how to link it here I would.

I caught some grief over this from some folks who let me know it is not a 327.

I responded by letting them know that I am an old guy and the numbers 327 mean something to me and the 5.3L is close enough to count as a 327 in my book.
