If you have chewed-up two distributor gears in such short order, it would seem reasonable that you have camshaft problems. If the distributor gear is damaged, most likely the cam gear is also bad.

You didn't mention anything concerning engine oil pressure, but the cam bearings could be worn to the point where the cam is whipping (or wobbling).

All of the berings and everything is new inside the engine i had the engine replaced for the 3rd time in less than a year and the new engine only has maybe 20k on it. so the problem im having is the warenty people saing that the cam isnt bad and the metal on the distributo gear is softer so my cam should be fine. so basicly they dont want to cover a new cam and lifters and so on. thanks for the input

oil presure is been good 2 so dont know what ot say about that

It sounds to me like your shop is taking your warranty company for a ride, and you along with them. I'd consider taking it to another shop and asking them to diagnose the problem.

If the distributor gear is getting chewed up, the possibilities are:

1. Damaged camshaft gear which drives the distributor gear

2. Wrong size distributor gear

3. Distributor gear loose on the distributor shaft (improperly attached). I believe most manufacturers use tight fitting roll pins for attachment.

4. Wrong distributor shaft length/wrong distributor used.

Distributor gears in engines with roller lifters use a specal treated gear since the cam is much harder than the non roller cams. Check out the P/N of the gear your using.
