04-05 GM Truck / SUV Hypertech V6 / V8 Programmer

Has anyone used ths tuner or knows someone that has? Any good/bad stories regarding improvements, problems, etc?

TREV..................I have the Hypertech 3 installed in my 04

6.0. It woke it up some and added a few more mpgs.

I adjusted the shift points to the top of the power bands,

increased the rev. limiter and bumped up the top speed.......

 

Only complaint is the Hypertech does NOT address GMs torque

mgmt. program which strangles the 6.0 and 8.1 at most WOT

applications....................

 

If your lookin' for a handheld tune I would recommend the

Diablo Preditor. That one is similar to the hypertech except

you are able to modify or turn off the torque mgmt. program.

 

If you wanna do the PCM burn there are several good ones

out there......Westers, PCM for less, Jesse tune etc.............

I think the "jesse tune" is the best deal out there for $125 bucks

or so.

 

Read and search around these forums on PCM or handheld tunes

before you decide on which one.

But no matter what !!!!!!!!!!! Either tune is the BEST bang for your

buck mod on your truck............................geo

 

BTW: I would sure like to find a handheld or PCM burn for my Caddy!

Sadly NONE are avail. for the Northstar because GM is holding the

cards on the propitary (spl) rights and won't release them to any

aftermarket companies.

That Northstar would scream with a little computer tweaking!!!!!!!
