[Two left lug nuts]

Can anybody tell me what size impact socket to use on the lugs of my 2003 GMC 1500HD? And to what lb. to torque them to?

The torque on my 99 1500 Z71 is 140ftlbs, I don't recall the socket size off-hand.

For a K1500 (from my owner's manual), 6 bolts 14mm, 140 lb-ft

For a K2500, 8 bolts 14mm, 140 lb-ft.

 

Not sure about a 1500HD, but it looks to be 14mm, 140 lb-ft. ;)

14mm is the size of the stud. The size socket you need is a 22 mm.

Ah yes. Funny, thinking about it now, 14mm would be way too small for the size of the socket.

Serves me right for copy&pasting from the owner's manual without thinking.

For some reason mine take 21mm. Not sure if it's because of the different wheel lugs but 22 would slip too much.
