Pitman Arm Removal

I will be putting in, new Pitman arm and idler arm and idler arm bracket. I was wondering if any one has used the OTC 6496 puller. They claim it it makes the job much easier. Should I spend the $65.00 and get the tool?

The work will be done on a 99 Yukon Denali

And here is another question, I bought a MOOG pitman arm but was not able to get the idler arm bracket from MOOG, so I had to go with AC for the idler arm and idler bracket. Whats up with this?

I HIGHLY recommend the puller. It is a royal PITA to remove without a puller. I could not get a Moog idler either. IMO, Moog has gone downhill in the last 5 years or so. Used to be significantly better than OEM and now they look about the same.

I agree. I had the puller, and the impact gun was struggling to get it off. Without the puller, I would imagine that it would be incredibly difficult to remove, especially if it's an older truck.
