Ill tell you what if that were me on the side of the road and someone did that to me I would find the nearest thing and throw it at the truck or run up and kick a dent in the side of the truck eather way there would be a fight, people like that never grow up and thinking its funny scaring people like that is just plain childish. That guy better hope he dont give someone a heartattack and someone got his tag number and the person dies theres no dought he would get charged for murder. Those horns are illegal and dont think is funny at all.

They are only illegal if you use them to scare people.

They are not illegal to have on your vehicle when used properly.

I just got a set of quad horns for my truck. Like "Icecoldtexan" says, use them responsibly  and they can be fun as well as usefull. I only wish the church bus I sometimes drive had something like this instaed of the whimpy squeaker it has!

Once I install them and check them out I'll let this forum know about them.

Later.........

Scaring someone may be childish, that's true; but so is throwing stuff at cars or kicking them or getting into a fight because you were "scared." Your theoretical scenario of someone dying of a heart attack may also be true, but doing what you suggest would result in assault and battery charges. People who fly off the handle because of any provacation at all is why I am always armed.

Ok so that is not assault? So when people fly off the handle at you the gun handles it for you? Is that not the same thing I just said? I find it pretty weak you need a gun to handle your problems.

No, it's not the same thing. You're advocating responding to a nuisance crime that could get someone a ticket with a Class-A felony. I'd say kicking someone's car or "getting into a fight" because someone honked at you is a severe over-reaction, and a worse crime than the original with more severe penalties. That's NOT defending yourself, that's raw angry aggression. The guy honking is going to get a ticket where you are going to jail (in our hypothetical scenario.) If you are going to react that way because someone honks at you, what will you do if someone cuts you off or follows you too close? Come at him with a tire iron? (Hey, you know it's happened.) I think that kind of macho "road rage" behavior you're advocating is unjustifiable. A person has a right to defend himself and that's all I'm advocaing. If you came at me intending to do bodily harm, I would be forced to stop you. Hopefully, saying 'safety's off!' would be enough, but you never know. As a State Trooper said to me once, "You better be careful getting angry at someone because you never know if that little white-haired guy you're yelling at has a .38 in his pocket."

Look, this is a thread that could get out of hand really fast. It has all the hallmarks of developing into a traditional flamewar. So I've said my piece and I'm done. Thanks for the opportunity to express my point of view, but I don't need to be repetitive. cula8rbye!

Well how you handle things is your choice how I handle things is my choice has nothing to do with who is macho here and not everything is handled in a diplomatic way and yes you are saying the same thing as me, lets say I come after you but dont touch you and you responded buy shooting me cause you were threatened now is that not the same as say you blowing the horn even though you didnt touch me and I respond by doing you bodily harm, but what ever it may be people react when there scared from something like that and it usually is not in a good way as you think it should be. And you are right this is turning into a flamewar Iam done also.

I would think that shooting someone for kicking in your door or throwing a rock at your ride is over reaction also. It's hard not to try and get even with someone who deliberatly does you wrong but if your life's not in danger it's best to just get gone and let the perp find a like minded fool to play kill each other with. I'm bad about getting even on the road because I have a revenge complex coupled with extreme driving skills and very powerful vehicles. But I realize it's a bad idea and I'm getting better. Those who don't know when to quit are the ones who end up dead. Nowadays if I can I just blast off and leave them in the dust. If they want catch me hard enough I have a 0.45 waiting at the finish line. I've only had to pull the gun on one guy and that was an attempted parking lot hold-up. So far the gun stays put up on the road.

As for the train horns I would love to have one. I'm always the first one to blow the horn at idiots though, a habit I developed when I was a forklift operator in a busy plant. So I better stick the normal stuff to avoid pushing someone over the edge with my wake up calls. Stuff like sitting at a green light for more than 4 seconds staring into space, jamming the brakes to rubber neck, or changing into my lane without looking. I'm on the horn right quick. A train horn would work better but add to my "road rage" encounters.

I don't agree with with the scaring bu)) sh!t but I would love to have one.

Yesterday, driving home from work, I turned a corner and some dope girl pulled out from the side of the curb and did a U turn right in front of me.

I almost t-boned her. With that horn, I would have scared the you know what out of her.

The worst part of that type of event, they look at you with the deer stare - who me doimg something wrong! this is my public street.

I wanted to put my fist though the window and connect with her face.

Those horns do have a purpose, sometimes.
