Oem Muffler Available

Hey everyone,

 

My friend recently got exhaust installed on his truck and he is somewhat unhappy with the sound. It's a little loud for him. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to most easily go back to a stock setup. It's EXPENSIVE to do that through a dealer. My friend has been to an exhaust place and they told him it would be about $150 to get stock sound back.

 

My friend also had another idea: Does anyone have, and would be willing to part with an OEM muffler from an '06 silverado? He didn't know if anyone had had dual put on or new mufflers and had kept their old stock muffler? If so, let me know with a message. The guys at the exhaust places should let you keep your old muffler after the remove it if you get work done to your exhaust. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Seems to me that the factory exhaust systems on the NBS trucks are one piece from cat to tail.

Why not tell your friend to check salvage yards and find the same truck and pull the exhaust off of that? Be alot cheaper and would be OEM.

I am getting ready to put an exhaust on my truck and I will have a stock exhaust system for sale. I am not really sure how much it would be worth it to him after shipping and all. Where are you located?

Why would your freind not ask for it back when he picked the truck up with the new exhaust?.....There is no reason why an exhaust shop would not give you back the old exhaust..........unless it was so rusted out thats its useless.............just go back and ask for it........they may still have it.
