Just plug it in and you have instant DIC. It also is very cool you change the LCD screen color to 63 possible colors. Here's the link if anyone is interested. And it reads engine trouble codes to boot.

Hey Jay.............where abouts in Ontario are you?.............im just south of Barrie.

That looks pretty slick..............and not a bad price................too bad it doesn't read tranny temp though..............I might still pick one up..............thanks for the post..........

Speaking of DICs....

I have the full-featured factory DIC on my 07. It has a readout for avg MPG and one for instant mpg. Is there one for an avg MPG for a trip that is resettable? I really don't want to reset my overall MPG one because I would like it to be a cumulative average for all driving conditions. I was planning on looking into this, but haven't got the chance and since this topic came up, just thought I'd ask.

Yes and it automatically resets and gives you a new daily trip with all of the information for the new day, as well as previous days, and overall MPG or in my case in Canada I like L/100Km.

Down in the Kitchener Waterloo area just west of Cambridge in a small town called Ayr. Yes no tranny temp but apparently they are going to add it and you'd be able to program it into the unit from what I understand.

The scangauge, I don't have the factory DIC with steeringwheel controls just the limited display where you have to stomp the gas pedal 3 or 4 times when the OLM tells you to chage the oil.

Right on........I actually know where Ayr is......lol.................I go out that way every once in a while to visit St.Jacobs Market.

Thats cool if they come out with a tranny temp reading and you can program it into the existing Scangauge...............

I am also interested in tranny temp. The company that makes these says they are working on a way to add tranny temp, see below link...

It is very odd they would have left off the Trans Temp. The info is avail from the computer. My Interceptor Scan Gauge reads trans temp but does not have many of the other features that this gauge has.

They said they were making this gauge generic for every vehicle and I guess most vehicles do not have a transmission temp gauge standard.

Check out the list of available parameters that can be read on GM vehicles, it's amazing. Also kind of frightening that there are all these sensors that can fail.

Unfortunately you need a CAN compatable vehicle for the DashHawk and even my '06 is not. The NBS '07's are.

On our '03 Sub you toggle through to what you could call a trip counter by pressing the steering wheel button with the road icon. There are, actually, two counters in that menu: a personal and a business counter. We use the latter for our trips.

Did GM discontinue that feature together with the "truck bumpers" (on the Tahoes, Subs, et al.)?
