Obs Taller Than Nbs Trucks?

I'm waiting 5 weeks so far for my VMAX CC to get to the dealer but haven't heard anything yet...The more I look at them, they dont look very big, is the new body style smaller or lower to the ground then the older ones????????

I think the front bumper does extend lower, probably due to federal requirements dealing with front impact crashes with smaller vehicles.

Like Paul said, the front end extends lower, so it is a "deeper" front end. The overall height of the truck is virtually identical. This was an important issue for me since my '03 just cleared my garage so I had to make sure the new one was similar in size. It is, with the exception of being wider than the old one by about 1.5 inches. I think the added width and the lower bumper might combine to visually lower the truck a little. I removed the lower front airdam on my nbs, which somewhat lessens this lowrider look.

The front windshield is also laid back at a steeper angle, similar to a car. This gives the impression the truck isn't as tall.

yeah that all does make sense, I guess I'd have to see them sitting next to eachother. I'm waiting for my VMAX to come in, ordered 5 weeks ago, still driving 05 z71 tahoe. I can't wait to have more power, this tahoe cant even get out of it's own way with 3.42 gears and 24" wheels on it!

my NBS Crew is much larger looking then my 05 Z71 tahoe it replaced, longer and wider, height is the same

I'm still glad I went with the 8ft. doors for my garage on the new house. I probably won't ever really need it, but they look nice!

Do you have pics, preferably before and after removing the air dam? I have debated this but just haven't taken the time to do it just to see. If you have pics, that would be sweet.

NBS 4wd models are a fraction of an inch lower than the 4wd GMT-800s. The 2wd models on the other hand are probably a little taller I would guess.

 

When you look at them side by side the GMT-900s look and feel much more massive though. It's a combination of a higher hood, higher bed height in back, more angled windshield and slightly wider track and width. They feel much larger to drive than they actually are.

First thing I did was remove the lower airdam 1 week after I brought him home, looks alot better without it and I have some pictures but the lower airdam doesnt show in the pic with it on and off.

slightly, I have heard around .3mpg before somewhere. Mine is off and I don't notice any difference at all.
