That's the problem that bothers me more than anything, that d**n seat squeak. Those that also have it, are your seats leather or cloth? If only I could find a fiex for this major nuisance....would make my truck d**n near perfect in my eyes.

Anybody ever find a fix for their seats? Im not talking the seatbelt fix because you can notice the sound with or without the seatbelt on....All you have to do is lean back onto the seat and you get the noise, went on a fishing trip with my buddy yesterday and it was driving me up the wall.

My '06 Denali has leather seats, they squeak. My bro's '01 Tahoe has leather seats, they squeak. And my friends brand new '07 Silverado Classis has cloth seats... they squeak a whole lot more. Anytime you move... instant squeak.

But that sure isn't going to stop my from complaining about to the dealer. :driving:

I have cloth in my 06, and had a squeak that sounded like the padding against the headrest arms.

A little silicone spray with the tube pushed into the seat, and no more squeak.

I also have noise from the rear doors, only on very uneven ground. Sounds like the door seals squeaking on the door as the cab flexes. No big deal as long as it doesn't get worse.

I can address a few of the problems here...

The windshield noise at 75mph can be fixed with double sided tape being applied under the windshield trim. 3M is what the factory uses when buying the GM bugshield.

The seat creaking can be multiple things. My driver's seat would pop when accelerating and decelerating. The only thing that fixed it was the trim guy needed to tighten the seat belt retractor in the seat. It wasn't as tight as it needed to be. The pop has not come back. The passenger seat also needed to have the seat belt retractor adjusted for the pop. The passenger seat creaking was fixed with a new seat actuator assembly and rail assembly. This was done 2x in 36k miles. We'll see how it goes now that warranty is over.

My back doors creak when I open them fully. The dealer tried adjusting it and the problem persists. With a leg leaning on the door, the doorpanel creaked. I removed the door panel and applied black electrical tape to the edge of the door panel. I also removed the arm rest and added some foam padding under it. Once reinstalled, the doors no longer squeak/creak with a passenger.

The passenger side also would creak when going over uneven terrain. The dealer said there was a TSB to fix this because of the Nerf bars. I argued with him about this because I loosened the bars and left the bolts loose, went for drive down the driveway and the noise was still there. Whatever the TSB, they fixed it. They said it had to do with the body mount bolts.

Now that I have silenced most of the squeaks/creaks and pops, I am now hearing something pop in the drivers side A pillar. Time to track that down.

the only noise mine has is the damn groon coming from the streeing wheel when turning left!! probably the clock spring or pump????

Anyone ever deal w/this? ohhhhh forgot about the brakes that squeak from day 1.......

ohhhhh for got about the brakes that squeak from day 1.......

I hear ya'..even after I replaced them, my brakes squeak...

I actually had to drive around and truly listen to my truck, it does have a few squeaks here and there. They just came on so slowly and since I always have the radio on I guess I never heard them. I was beginning to think I had a quiet truck until I read this. Ignorance really is bliss... LOL!

BTW, it's not the trucks fault for my noises, it's ALL mine, I drive my truck everywhere I want to go REGARDLESS of the road conditions. A couple of times were NO road conditions.

did you repaced rotors also?

Yup, new brakes all the way around rotors, pads, drums & shoes. Well shoes twice since first set were defective and then needed a new wheel cylinder as I got in a hurry putting new shoes on and broke one. The squeaking problem is probably my fault since I didn't use "the best" quality parts. I used the high end Napa store brand, also I went Semi-Metallic up front since the ceramic brake pads warped my OE rotors twice. I didn't want to take the chance of that happening again. On the rear it was Autozone drums and O'Relly shoes (second set). I used what the stores had in stock. No one had everything on hand.

I just finished replacing my entire brake system (save for the master cylinder and lines) with all OEM AC Delco parts (not the cheap stuff) and I must admit that all the noises went away. If anyone does a full brake job in the future, make sure to check that you are getting the OEM AC Delco parts and not the generic parts with the AC Delco name (look it up). Cost me almost 40% more than what the stores had in stock but the price was worth it now that the brakes make no noise at all. as for the steering system, I also replaced the power steering pump and idler pulley with OEM new ones, not the remanufactured junk. Replaced and flushed the entire system as well and the groaning/grinding is gone....i think I might have "shocked" the system because now the only problem i have is when I turn in either direction while at a stop (dead stop), the RPMs drop by almost 300.

Wasn't that related to a possibly bad steering gear or something like that?

Wasn't that related to a possibly bad steering gear or something like that? Probably but the truck did not do this before. I figured that I will replace the entire rack and pinion/tierods and end links with a new OEM setup. I will likely also replace the I shaft with one from flaming river. Pricey but I suspect that the power drop will be gone with all new OEM parts (minus the I shaft).

Only problem with this is the truck will likely be down for a week to two weeks as this work is checked and rechecked by me. The guy that did the work for me prior knows that I check EVERYTHING to make sure it is in line....from the bolts not being stripped/cracked to all the clamps/hoses positioned properly. He took a week doing the prior work when I know he could have done it (without my checkups) in 2 days.

Let me know when you get it done. I'm curious. I just get an occasion lock out of my steering at low speeds/stops (right turns mostly). One day I'll replace the whole set up as well just because I know it's all got to be getting worn with my driving style on dirt/gravel roads.
