First off, I am German, Belgium and unfortunately, Mexican. I love this country so much the sight of the US flag waving can choke me up. With that said, some d**n (*EDIT* Let's not use racial slurs here please ~Wingnut) has stolen my SSN and been using it for over a year to work at a meat packing plant. I first found out in September, then some many months ago I filed a police report about it. Now, I have the state of Wisconsin saying I own them $3500 for unemployment benefits because I concealed my wages. I'm waiting on the IRS to contact me saying I under-reported my earnings. I have contacted the FBI, local law enforcement, INS, Social Security, and this employer. I have been told this jerk off will probably disappear or won't even be deported. Any ideas?

Contact a lawyer because I'm sure you'll end up needing one. Sorry about your mess and I hope it gets straightened out.

A lawyer might be necessary. But if your local police are cooperative, and you made a police report with them, they could contact the local police where the suspect lives to make contact with him. Maybe they can seize any documents with your SSN or name on them and possibly charge him locally where he lives also.

 

I am a detective with a Sheriff's Office, and we will do this if another police dept requests our assistance, but not all police departments will be as cooperative. Contact the police dept where you live and make a report, if you already didnt, and contact the officer or detective in charge of your case and run this by him. Hopefully both depts will help you out.

You may wish to contact the 3 major credit bureaus and also have a fraud alert put on your info in the event this party or another tries to open accounts using your information. Your state Attorney General's office may also have some identity theft information to assist you.

2a. short of #2 get a lawyer

3. if you get a lawyer, see if you can sue the meat packing plant for not reporting the wages etc etc of your loser alter-self. With them to pay for all the clean-up costs.

Man I thought I had it rought when they stole my credit card # and got a camera from staples, that sucks man- Good Luck

Firstly, keep a written record of all correspondence with ANYone. Local law enforcement, FBI, employers, banks, anyone at all.

 

Secondly, pull an Equifax report and see how much damage this person has done to your credit rating. It'll cost you $30 but it's well worth it and you may be able to find out where this person is or reverse some of the damage. Their website has some tidbits of information on what to do as well I believe.

 

The trick is paperwork. If you have paperwork to prove your legitimate activities, it will be easier to distinguish between your movements and this illegal person's activities. I would also get in contact with a lawyer (and there are now lawyers specializing in this type of criminal defense) just in case you need one later on for lawsuits.

 

I would also contact whatever agency it is, and get your SSN changed. Yes, it is possible and probably the best thing you can do in this situation. Yours has been compromised and it's easier to track his illegal activity once the govt knows that SSN is no longer active. I've heard stories of ppl cancelling their SSN, and the next week the dumbass tries to open a loan with it, and the teller stalls him long enough for the police to arrive.

We once had about $700 dollars worth come out of our bank via a debit card, They were buying prepaid minutes for cell phones. Come to find out, some bitch at Taco Bell had ran our card & got the numbers & were using it. They were busted & we found out they about scammed about $20000 worth of calling minutes by using other peoples cards they had gotten from working the window. We did get our money back & they had to pay us restitution equalling half of what they spent off our bank card.

 

I now NEVER go through a drive thru & NOONE walks away from the counter with my debit card!

Had someone get a hold of my card account number from a overseas transaction .

Stay on top of it and don't let up .

This is why I swore off plastic in general a long time ago. A few months back in Richmond (and I'm sure this goes on EVERYWHERE) somebody targeted all these businesses where they got numbers off the card swipers where the customer uses it themselves. Hundreds (if not thousands) had themselves an Identity theft situation.

 

I'm green-backs all the way.

In addition to this, if you send any kind of correspondence via USPS, send it certified, return receipt. You'll get a receipt back with the signature and date the letter was signed for. This way the recipient can't deny they received any correspondence from you. This goes for any kind of important correspondence.

      I'm not sure if this should be a new topic, let me know if it's out of place. This my first post. Thanks 85077522 - AC Delco GM Genuine Parts Brake Master Cylinders. Anyone else had to replace this brake master cylinder yet. I didn't do any brake work, it looks like new parts and I've had the truck for about 4k miles, 119k total miles.  When it started to throw codes I did the calibrations with a bidirectional scanner and got the codes to clear but they came back so I did the routine; base bleed, automated bleed and final base bleed. All that with Bosch ES16-32N fluid (please look it up). That seemed to fix it but 100ish miles later it failed again so I ran the same process but with a pressure bleeder this time and got the same results, fixed for 100ish miles. The original fluid looked bad and I thought I got most of it out, it could've been the wrong fluid. The codes; P25A2, C05B0-00, C2A1B. I can get them to clear but not for long. The C05B0 indicates a leak in the front circuit (which is bone dry) so I'm thinking of doing the bleed process on that front again today and I don't know if that's taboo to just do the front but at this point it seems like it's worth the try anyway. The new master cylinder/module unit is supposed to get here today. But now I'm pretty much convinced this install is over my head. I've called several shops and some mobile guys that I know but this thing is like radio active material, scary wise. I did get 2 local shops say they should be able to do it, one says he has the SPS2 programing capability. And with the battery disconnected is there supposed to be pedal resistance, mine is to the floor, then if I pump it I can get some resistance. I had a panic stop prior to this issue which may have contributed from what I read. And on the first attempt to bleed and hydraulic test the scanner listed things to look for and one was any gaps between the pad and rotors which I did notice on the RF corner and I removed the outer pad (where the gap was) cleaned it and the hardware and didn't see a gap after that but will re-check it. I read that if pushing the caliper pistons back then you're supposed to open the bleeder so as to not push fluid backwards into the abs module or it will damage it. If that's true then that's also a possibility from the previous owner having the brakes changed before I got it. I'm using an XTool ip500 scanner. Any suggestions, questions and comments welcome.

      Next Friday will be my 6 week point from my right knee replacement.  The surgeon says it will be fine if I choose to drive after this checkup.  I know I could drive now but best to do as my surgeon (and my wife) tell me.  Richard compared being 62 to 72.  I remember when I was in my early 60's I was experiencing slow but regular decline in my mobility.  Thanks to good medical support,  i continued to fight the speed and spread of this decline. During my 60's I worked on non-surgical methods and just when I turned 70, my orthopedic surgeon recommended joint replacements.  In a little over a year, I had one shoulder and both knees replaced.  This hasn't been a terribly fun experience, but worth the discomfort as my future mobility health trajectory has reversed.  It is a treat to now be watching my mobility. balance and confidence steadily improve!
