Got a Tahoe for a daily driver/ winter vehicle. :chevrolet:

Still got the goat, but now can go for more mods on it and not worry about snowy days.

My first slush box. Never, have owned an automatic, but oh well, too good of shape, very clean, low miles (85,000 :driving: ), and price was right. Already modded too, Flowmasters, new 32x11.5 BFG Allterrain TKO's, tinted. Now to get it here from California.

My Mom told me to take her time and something about driving it to work all next week to make sure "everything is ok"...

I think she misses her 93 she had that was basically the same.

Looks great man :chevrolet:

Now for an off-topic question...Was it possible to buy an '05 or '06 Goat in IBM without the blue interior?

Yes, mine has a black interior actually. There was 326 05 IBM's with a black interior and 810 06 IBM's with a black interior. The blue interior is nice, just a little too bright for me. Everyone here locally that has it loves it though.

Cool, thanks...I'm contemplating getting rid of the SS and getting an '06 GTO. MUCH cheaper for a toy. :chevrolet:

But that blue (or red for that matter) interior is quite the barfer to me. Seems too ricy.

My main hangup is that my 4800 lb truck handles better than the two GTO's I've driven, and one of them was brand new...All I've got done suspension wise is Hotchkis sway bar and bushings.

Hotchiks Sawybars for the goat and some springs and you'd be way better than the SS. Stock suspension is crap on the GTO's. The springs on many were overloaded and damaged in transport from Aussieland. The struts on 06 are notorious for going bad. My next mod for the GTO is going to be suspension actually. www.ls2gto.com is a great site for info. And you can save a lot of money getting a slightly used GTO. Dealers are holding on to what they have left of them atm.

Forgot to add, the GTO is the best purchase I have ever made...

I signed up there about a week ago, and I've been closely watching the for sale section to get an idea...Or maybe a new ride :D

If I time it right, I could get a GTO that somebody has already done the swaybars and springs :wtf: I'd just about have to have the same blue you have though...Or the orange, those are pretty slick too.

I'd take just about anything pontiac currently has in that orange.

I know this guy is asking a little much for the car. Plus you live in OK, but he is a local guy here, and the car has very nice mods, without going over board.

06 Brazen on Craig's List

He has the Pedder's Track II suspension, and long tube headers, torque converter, plus a few other things. Not sure if you are looking for an auto though.

That's a VERY nice car...But I'm looking for about 10k less than that. I can get in a brand spankin' new one for quite a bit less than he's asking.

And I'm looking for a manual anyway :wtf:

I'd have to get rid of the SS first too. :D

Well you can't have mine.

I'll keep an eye out for one too. The best spot to watch is the for sale section though, especially if you are willing to go a little ways to get the car.

Hell, I flew to Austin to buy my '01 Silverado (from a member here on the boards)...I bet I'd fly for a Goat too...Especially for the drive home :D

Southwest's fun fares kick ass.

    • I would argue that GMPartsDirect has that info wrong.    The service manual for R+R the lower arm and for adjusting camber/caster, none of the steps say to discard and replace the nut or the bolt.    The only part that gets discarded is the plastic cam adjustment retainer that is in the eccentric from the factory.     The LCA nut torque spec is: First Pass: 180 Y (133 lb ft) Final Pass: 90 –105 Degrees
    • The filtering to wear relationship goes like this:      'Relative Engine Life "Factor" new divided by the factor old. So 8/3= 2.67. That result is the multiplier thus if a motor had an effective life of 100K using a filter with a 45 micron rating at a Beta ratio of 75 then a filter with a micron rating of 10 at a Beta of 75 would improve expected engine life to 267,000 miles.    Wear metals are an indirect indicator. Less is better and the motor lives longer but there isn't a multiplier like there is for filtration so well documented. Most of that has to do with the sensitivity of the wear metals tests themselves. They read a 'slice' of the spectrum but not the absolute values for the entire spectrum. So a general indicator that is used WITH the results of other tests. Two others considered in this post. Trending is very important.    There is also the influence of corrosive wear which may be seen in the wear metals but separate from load based or viscosity mitigated indication. It's a small graph but the gray line is wear vs the TBN/TAN crossover. Not as useful as it used to be as there are now new chemistries for acid remediation that don't show up in standard UAO testing. They will catch up or be found liars. Only two possible outcomes, eh?
    • One thing that comes up over and over is that the torque converters are the weak link. Many of the failed transmissions have the same thing in common. The torque converter grenades and then metal torque converter shards end up destroying the transmission. One of the best things you can do is if your transmission is still fully functional, change out to one of the aftermarket billet torque converters. There are several good choices mentioned in different threads here to make your choice. After that, then you can decide about trans tuning. My trans failed at around 95,000 miles. It got replaced under the GM protection plan. The remanufactured trans comes with a 100,000 mile /3 year warranty. I still have just under 1 year left. So far, so good. As long as it's still working good next year, an aftermarket torque converter is going to get installed early spring. If the trans and OEM torque converter fail by then, I will get it replaced under warranty and immediately have an aftermarket torque converter installed. A warranty replacement trans of a replacement trans will no longer have the warranty so I will bulletproof it from the get go.
    • You got'a be cooking right now. Just looked at the weather map. Yuck!    We are right back to $4 today.
    • Pushing $4.00 a gallon in most places, still $3.75 in town but it's going to spike tomorrow for sure.   Diesel back up to $4.60-5.00.
