What do you guys think of these steps/runing boards for my 07 NBS Ext. Cab? Price seems fair but im not sure if id rather have these or nerf bars. $200 is my budget.

In the end it is going to be what you want and like. I don't care if everyone likes nerf bars, if I want running boards then I get them.

For me I wanted a greater weight capacity since mine is a crew cab and a wider step so I chose some power running boards. That way I still have my running boards but don't have to see them all the time, only when getting in or out.

i just bought those for my 04 z71, extended cab, shipped and everything was 200$, i was told bye friends " those are going to be junk blah blah blah", i recently took a trip to the auto zone down the street and took a look at a pair of Westin nerf bars... westin schmestin... the bars i got for 1/3 the $$$ are comparable and i'd even venture to say BETTER than the westins, they have a LIFETIME warranty... me and my dad installed them in about an hour and a half last night, they look amazing, they came with all stainless steel bolts, nuts, and powder coated mounting hardware, the quality far surpasses any of my friends doubts... i am extremely happy with my purchase... good luck with yours!!!

I don't care for nerf bars either. I opted for the GM 6" wide stainless step bars. They are quite expensive. Had I seen these before I bought my truck, I would have opted for to go with this route. Those are going to look pretty good, just as good if not better than the GM version.

I find with a Chevy 1500, running boards arent needed. With a 2500 they are.
your right with the old body style there not needed however with the new body style they are even with the 1500

well my set got delivered today took 1/2 hour per side to get them on . They look great and are very sturdy I stood in the middle of the mounts and bounced up and down and got hardly any deflection at all if any and I weight 230 they are well made and fit very nicely .

I would fall under the "prefer nerf bar" category, but those are the best looking running board I believe I've ever seen. Great deal on ebay also.

i was told by my gm dealer that running bored arnt recommended on the NBS case the sheet metal is so thin it with bend but the steps are fine cause they attach to the frame

Your GM dealer is clueless!!! The GM FACTORY 6" oval Step bars do NOT mount to the frame. They mount to the underside of the rocker panels to 4 reinforced mounts that are meant for mounting these steps specifically. I have them and and I can jump up and down on them and they do not bend or even flex the sheetmetal, and I weigh 215 lbs.

Well I am not sure how the ones from GM mount I have not seen them yet but I am sure if they from GM they fit and work great the reason I choose to Buy these is that I just thought that 625.00 was to much .Also the ones that I installed on my truck today mounted to the frame using the existing bolts with no drilling and seem to work just fine
