Got Beat By 07 Mustang.

Guys - I've been dragracing Mustangs for over 15 years and have won my share of events with my Mustangs over the years.

So the other day this dude pulls next to me in his brand new 07 Mustang in the Left turn only lane and I knew he was going to go straight. So I said - what the hell - I figured I give him run. Now keep in mind that I'm in my 02 2500HD 6.0lwith the Westers 89-93 tune so I thought I might have a chance.

Right before the light turns green I bring the RPM's up against the brake and I let her fly - Now I know the dude in the Mustang wasnt thinking I was gonna run him beacuse I pulled a full car(truck) on him - as my truck pulled higher in 1st - he hits 2nd and catches me and just as my truck shifts to 2nd he goes by me......oh well - so I lost....but it was worth the chance.

So word of adivce - the 07 Mustangs can outrun an 02 HD w/6.0 with Westers.

Oh well - if I was only in my Dragcar...........

HA! I bet he was scared for a second at first. Those new Rustangs are pretty darn fast for an out of the box stocker.

Nah, it's not a whipping or anything. They're pretty evenly matched (so are the Charger R/T's) with the SS in terms of acceleration and handling...But most of the guys can't drive. A 6 speed should be able to eat my lunch off the line, but I've yet to run into a Rustang with a manual transmission and the "driver" mod.

I've gotten a couple on a roll too. But that's a VERY close race. I've not won them all, and I rarely walk away from them...More like crawl away

I figured you would have them on the launch pretty easily with the traction the SS has. Those new Mustangs are pretty decent. I hope the new Camaro does GM justice once more.

They're getting the LS2, right?

The GTO beats the tar out of mustangs (stock for stock anyway) with that motor, and weighs more than the Camaro should when it comes out...So I'd guess that the new Camaro is going to be more of a Charger SRT-8 killer, and out of the league of a stock Mustang.

My wife killed a charger R/T the other night in the Altima. I guess this guy had a "WTF I got beat by a V6" look on his face.

when i loose to a car in a race i don't even think twice... because your not even in the same class... its a performance car and your driving a full size brick on wheels... don't let it beat you up too much... just get your justice when one of those schmef150's lines up to make himself look like an idiot... or God forbid a dodge driver even think to make himself look that cool...

just think... in a few weeks if hes tries that he'll be sitting in a ditch looking up at u while you cruise bye!!
