I've been running it in my Harley for the last several years based on the recommendation of my local cycle shop and have been completely satisfied so far.

Same here..i been running in my two trucks for the last 6 months or so and seems pretty good (i changge my oil 3000-4000 miles, but with purple oil the oil life guage usually reads higher oil life remaining then other oil i have tried. )

its only a lil more expensive than mobile 1 syn and i have heard great things about it with no personal reason to not belive them so far...

I switched from Mobil 1 to RP a few years ago on my 99. Honestly, I can't tell a difference but RP is not that much more expensive so I continue to use it.

I use it in my 80 Camaro exclusively and i would highly recommended, it's not just "Snake oil" it really works. I used it in my 06 Silverado and was quite impressed. Not going to give you tons of power but i noticed the truck has a bit more get go and slightly better fuel milage then stock. I dident notice much in the camaro because it has horrible gas mileage as it is "11:1 compression engine will do that" and i have more then enough power under my right foot to negate any power difference. But i do like to protect my investments with the best i can get so i use it.

Yes, Royal Purple works amazing. I've been running it for 3yrs not a problem in a 2000 gmc 4wd with 174000kms. The motor actually runs cooler, but the old gm knock is still there at start up for a couple of minutes. Good investment!

I put it in my 2006 cobalt ss about 8 months ago.

My mpg went from 31-32mpg highway to 35-37mpg....way past the what the specs for the car are. And it just runs better. This was an instant change, so I know that was the reason.

When I used regular oil, it would make my CEL turn on if I went over 5k or so, and my mpg would shoot way down until I changed it.

I'm changing it about every 7000-10000 miles, and it still looks pretty clean.

I'm sold on the stuff.

Don't know about a truck yet, I'll be putting it in soon.

I think we need to get the RP word out, I believe people are so shy about snake oil that when the real deal comes they dont believe it.

Check out the RP site and also other HOT ROD mag test. Its proof positive.

I use Royal Purple and love it. Deffinatley could tell the difference from switching. Actually I use all of Royal Purple's lubricants best around in my opinion. Especially the Trans fluid very smooth firm shifting

It's good stuff from my experience of a few months, still have 60% life according to my DIC. I also have their gear oil in my differentual, it still seems to be good somehow.

(First Post!!)

I just started using Royal Purple in my bike (86 Honda VF700C) and so far so good.... I changed out the engine oil AND the gear oil with RP.

I Have Mobil 1 in my truck now... but depending on how RP works in my bike, I might switch to it in my truck, and start using it in my mother's truck as well (She has a 94 S-10 4cyl/5spd w/ 130k on it. I have a 04 Silverado 1500 5.3/4L60E w/ 37k on it).

RP is definatley more expensive.... I paid around $10 a quart for the 10w-40 motorcycle oil and $15 for a quart of 75w-90 for the shaft drive box. However, there is a guy who is the area rep for Daytona Beach and I buy directly from him. (Morin Motorsports I think).

Your DIC and OLM have no idea what oil you're using. The OLM is programmed for regular 5w30 oil. The reason the mileage changes so much is due to driving differences between oil changes. If you do a lot of highway driving the OLM might say change at 7500 or so. It might say to change at 3500 if you do a lot of city driving. It counts miles, engine revolutions, and engine temperature, puts it into an algorythm that then decides whether or not to turn on the light.

Had a built motor in my last car that sounded like a diesle due to the piston slap from the forged pistons that took a long time to quiet down until it was warmed up. After switching to RP 20/50W it was much quieter and smoother. It will certainly be used for my first oil change in this truck.
