Nnbs Bose System Crossover?

Just wondering if people could give their thoughts on the bose system in a nnbs truck about whether or not the bose amp has it's own crossover, or if the signal is straight through.

Alot of people have complained about how the bose doesn't really have good highs, sounds muddy, all mids, etc. and I would tend to agree with that. Any comments from people have added an aftermarket head unit to the bose system using a bose interface would be helpful.

I dont really want to spend all the money on replacing all the bose speakers, bypassing the factory amp, etc. So I was wondering if some EQ tweaks from an aftermarket CD player would help the sound quality of the system, since all the factory unit has is a basic bass, mid, treble control. Seems like the actual speakers of the bose system couldnt actually be that bad, so i thought that maybe an aftermarket head unit might actually help the sound.

why not leave the factory amp and speakers and use a pac convertor for about 50-60 bucks? that way you can ad 2 more amps if you want and all the subs or speakers you want. i did and it sounds soooo much better

I would give the Bose speakers a 1 out of 5 star rating. What a disapointment. The problem I have is the factory Nav unit that I dont want to lose, but I want better speakers and an amp to run them. Also the stupid lockout on the Nav, you cant put in a destination unless your stopped. Great so I will pull over on a 4 lane highway..Thats a lot safer!
