I was looking on Autotrader for 2500HD's and came across what looks to be a 2005 Regular cab HD with a NBS bed.

 

Either I am crazy or this dealer is for trying to pass this off as a legitimate 2005.

At least now I have a better idea how much taller the bed is on the NBS. Not as bad as I thought but still high.

The 1/2-tons had the solid chrome bar in '05,but the HD's went to the "power-dome" hood and body color pieces between the lights in '05.

Then in '06 all the trucks got them.

Nah that is an 05, look at the VIN, look at the 10th digit, 5 = 2005, you are probably thinking of the light duty silverado with the solid chrome bar, the HD is the same grille that was on the 2006 silverado light duty, that truck really does suck, but it is really gonna suck for whoever buys it.

The taller box is the main reason i haven't replaced my truck. I am 6"1" and cant reach from the side and retrieve something in the front of the box. On my 2000,01,03 & 04 i can.
