Nytemare Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 It is the VETERAN, not the preacher, Who has given us freedom of religion. It is the VETERAN, not the reporter, Who has given us freedom of the press. It is the VETERAN, not the poet, Who has given us freedom of speech. It is the VETERAN , not the campus organizer, Who has given us freedom to assemble. It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer, Who has given us the right to a fair trial. It is the VETERAN , not the politician, Who has given us the right to vote. It is the VETERAN , Who salutes the Flag, It is the VETERAN, Who serves under the Flag, ETERNAL REST GRANT THEM O LORD, AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM. Mostly US pictures...a good Video. Please remember we that serve and those that died to keep these great lands FREE. And...remember..If you can read this, thank a teacher... If its in English...thank a soldier

If its in English...thank a soldier This poem is written next to my Dad's photo's and medals we display in our home. He volunteered under age and was on the invasion forces on the beach in WWII. He was wounded in action there and after he recovered he joined the service and served for 36 years in the Canadian Army in the Middle East, Cyprus , Europe and Canada. I think of him a lot around this time of the year, especially, as it was men like him that we can thank that we are free today.
