I will be replacing my muffler soon on my 07 NBS silverado. Has anyone put an aftermarket muffler on? If so, which kind? what type of exit (dual back, dual side, turndown)?

Seperate does any one know what the inlet size of the muffler is on the stock muffler?

If you want do do a muffler & tip change, you can buy a single in/out muffler and run a 3.5" stainless tip at the end. For dual outlet muffler upgrade the intermediate pipe ( straight pipe from Y to muffler ) to 3" and get a 3" single in / 2.5" dual outlet so you wont lose backpressure and it will sound better.

As for the OEM pipe size I dont know, could be 2.5" or 2.75" not sure.

Good replacment mufflers would be Flowmaster, or Magnaflow, those are the most common exhausts out there. The Magnaflow 14" muffler might be a good choice cause their mufflers are pretty quiet, 14" would be louder than most other Magnaflow mufflers. The Flowmaster Super 44 would be the best Flowmaster to get. Or if you want it quiet until you get on the throttle, 50 series muffler would work. 3.5" - 4" tips would look great on it. You can find everything on Summit Racing, and find videos on youtube.

goodluck with your project

If anyone has just replaced there stock muffler with a Flowmaster and they know the part number off the top of there head that would be great. I plan on going with the 50 Series Delta Flow. Just looking for length and inlet/outlet diameter so I can just cut and weld. Save me from crawling under the truck in this weather. Thanks.

2.5" duals from the headers back with an X-pipe or a single 3" pipe.

That's what I did on mine (although, no headers).. 2.5" pipes coming off of each cat, through a dual-in/dual-out Flo-Pro muffler (which does the cross-over work in the muffler for you), out the back.. Runs great and sounds great (especially after adding the CAI last week).
