RyanbabZ71 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Well I had the brackets for over a yr and I finally got a 2D (had some 2C) maglight after thanksgiving (sale at lowes). Its much better than having to go under the backseat open the toolbox and fish out the flashlight.
MountaineerTom Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Looks good Ryan. That's the same place I have mine. I used to keep it in the center console until I put a CD changer in there.
AllBlkdOut07 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Yeah, that does look cool, mag lites are sweet. Don't know if I'd drill into my new Silverado though
mjager Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Did the same thing, but under the dash below the glove box, used some existing screws there. Love knowing my ML is always at hands reach.
RyanbabZ71 Posted December 2, 2007 Author Posted December 2, 2007 Don't know if I'd drill into my new silverado I was hesitant but after I did one screw I pulled it back out and couldnt tell where it went in (carpet hid it)
Norman Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 I agree with the idea of having a flashlight in the truck somewhere. I'm very partial to Surefire lights. This gives me an excuse to buy one solely for the truck. Thanks!
VMax2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 I keep my large (3 or 4 D?) maglight in the center console. May come in handy as a "protective device" sometime too?
cambo Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 I keep my large (3 or 4 D?) maglight in the center console. May come in handy as a "protective device" sometime too? Thats where I keep my 3D mag at. And I use it for the same reasons. Luckily I have never been in that situation....yet. I have that 3D, but I also have a little 2-4AA LED Maglight. I love that little booger. Really bright and I can use it as a candle. How much are the 3D mags going for now? I just checked mine and the batteries have leaked acid in it, and I want a new one.
Genuinefine409 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 I keep my large (3 or 4 D?) maglight in the center console. May come in handy as a "protective device" sometime too? I have a 4 D cell and it would fit in the console of my '96 but my '02 it doesn't maybe i'll mount it on the floor, it's a good idea.
badmeds Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 love my MLs, especially with the led conversion but I came across this one: http://www.duluthtrading.com/search/search...p;kw=flashlight and had to have it. Two settings of light and works really well. It stores nicely in the truck. One word of caution, it has a significant magnet. It's the only aluminum version of a shake light that I could find.
Nytemare Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 MagLite's suck....Surefire is the way to go....10X dominator:P MagLite is a good flashlight though...D cells are easy to come by. the rechargeable Li ions for the surefire....not so easy, and they last for like 15 min....blinding and painful for 15 min though. Definitely a good thing to have in a vehicle though, and that is a nice place to put it.
ChrisNJ Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 For years I keep a 3 or 4 D cell in between the bottom right seat mount (buckets) and the center console, right on the floor. Fits in snug, never rattles, never moves. Keep the lense side towards the front. Always handy for light and potential protection.
fbachman Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Years ago I bought a 7C before they were foo-barred to to a law-suit. Heck og a "light". Still Have it. It's handy in my truck at all times...
