How Many Mods Have You Done Before Your First Payment

My first payment on my 08 Silverado isn't due until 1/7.

So far I've added the following

Line-X bedliner

Hunter blade series side steps

Uhaul hitch

Under bumper reverse lamps

Hayden trans cooler

Pioneer Avic-D3 dvd/navigation w/bluetooth and sirius

Kicker 10" CVT in a custom fit box under seat.

Kicker zx200.2 amp

Boyo rearview camera

I will add a new exhaust system when money permits. I'm still undecided about anything else.

Just curious as to how much effort and money other people have put into their truck before even making your first payment.

By the way its going to be a "Frigid" 80 degrees here in Miami today and tomorrow for Christmas.

I would like to ask a modified question:

How many have paid off their trucks before making the first mod?

I almost always do my tires, wheels, and tint before I bring the truck home the first time. There are always more things to do once it's home though. Isn't that WHY we buy trucks?

Paid 100% up front so doesn't apply to me.

Hey,Thats not fair......You said your work buys them for you,That doesn't count!!!

By the way,Most of my mods are done before the first payment.

Since I order my trucks I get all my "goodies" bought and rounded-up before the truck arrives,Then when the truck comes in I have a "party" to install everything!!!

Obviously, I didn't plan ahead enough. All I "knew" I wanted to add to mine was the side-steps and iPod integration (not just plug-in a wire to the aux port). I had the side-steps installed before I picked-up the truck. I tried the iPod integration, but I never could get it to work. I'm not sure if I got bad units or what, but they didn't work as advertised. So, I sent 'em back.

It wasn't until I hit the speed limiter (a month or two after the first pmt) that I realized "I need a tuner" (to get rid of the speed limiter). That started the dominos falling for the CAI and the duals...

Now, it's tires & wheels that I'm looking at...

I still need to get the rear wheel-well inserts and mud flaps... and the windows tinted.. and Line-X... and the drop-shackles.. and.. and.. and..

I've never spent so much "extra" on a new vehicle! I don't mind. But, I doubt that I've actually "liked" a new vehicle this much, where I "wanted" to do so much to it.

My last car, all I ever did to it was window tint and a sunroof deflector. Everything else I thought of, I was afraid of voiding the warranty on it... When the transmission went out on it, I was glad I hadn't done anything to it. They told me "if I had even done so much as put a CAI on it, they probably wouldn't have covered it."

EDIT : Come to think of it, this board has cost me a lot of money! I wouldn't even KNOW about drop-shackles and leveling kits and HP Tuners and all that stuff, if it wasn't for this place! Oh, yeah. I guess that's another thing I'm "thinking about." Upgrading from the Predator to the HP Tuners Pro setup... Ugh!! It'll never end!! And I left off the "maybes" for the tonneau cover, the bed rails, the backup camera, the Lockpick...! Wow... I need a better-paying-job, just so I can afford all this stuff! haha! No wonder I've only taken one road trip, since I got the truck!

It seems that some of you need a payment plan just for the accessories and mods before you start making your truck payments.

I think I only did the window tint, moulded mudflaps, bed mat and tailgate protector before I paid the truck off, which was a few months after I got it.

I pay cash for all my mods. I just spent $1000 for lowering kit and mag-hytec diff cover last week...no biggie.
