Hey guys, I just got the truck back from the shop. Had an Audison amplifier put in under the front passenger side. (There was def. enough room since it is a manual moving seat.) I also added 2- kicker compvr 10s and had all the door speakers replaced with 6-1/2" eclipse speakers. I chose to leave the pillar tweaters running off the deck for now. I also opted to have a bass knob for the sub control mounted in the lockable middle floor console. All I can say is wow!! This thing is amazing. I love this Audison amp. Way better than any Alpine or Kicker amp ever owned. I left the stock head unit in for theft deterence and overall looks. I ended up getting everything bought and installed for $1100.00 I had thought about installing myself but opted not to. Any ways, great system and even better truck. :) Give me a shout if you have any questions.

:D I want to put a new system in my truck, the Blose at full volume isn't nearly loud enough for me. Do you have any rattles now that your dash has been ripped up? I hate under the dash rattles plus how do you like the eclipse speakers?

Yeah I didnt have the bose system but the bass from the speakers was horrible and rattled the door a little bit. The new eclipse speakers couldnt be better for how much money i spent. They were originally 150 per pair and i got them for 35 per pair on a closeout deal. The main reason I can say my system sounds amazing is because of the Audison amp. It is amazing. Its only putting out 45 watts per pair of door speakers and 190 watts to each subwoofer. But the sound is so clean and accurate and the subs sound better than my old 600 watt mono kicker amp on two kicker subs. I couldnt be happier. I haven't posted any pics since everyone has seen the dull under the seat box and i didnt get pics of the installation of the door speakers since i didnt do it myself. The only thing i may note is def. check if your amp will fit under the passenger side. It is a much better location for breathing ability and you will always have access to it.

I have had one issue with my driver window as of yesterday. It makes some wierd popping sounds when i roll it up and it touches the top. Its like it tries to keep rolling up or something. I am taking it in next friday to the dealer. It has nothing to do with replacing the speakers since the window mech. are shielded.

Does it pop at speed or it doesnt matter? Only reason I ask is on some trucks the cabin pressure differs from outside when at speed and the window might pop when closed.

No it isnt an issue of at certain speeds. Im sitting in park and roll up the window and it reaches the top and just doesnt sound right and then a spring pop happens. It only happens each time i pull up on the switch though.

I will be working on getting pictures uploaded soon guys. Keep an eye out for them.

Thinking of doing the same kind of stuff in the same truck. How does the stock head unit do as far as power for everything?

I thought the tweeters on the pillars ran off of the speakers in the door. Is there really an out from the head unit to the tweeters?

First of all, i dont have the stock head unit powering anything. It is only powering the stock tweeters in the pillars. I have my audison amp powering the two subs and 4 door speakers. I know it would sound better if i had an aftermarket head unit for the connections purpose but i didnt want to jack the stock look up. Once the system was done the door chimes were incredibly too loud when running through the amp. We switched the fades to power the subs off the front so the tweeter is the only thing playing chimes which is virtually impossible to hear at all along with the seat belt chime. This is the best sounding system I have had in a while and especially for $1100 bucks. I am just hoping the dealer doesn't try to say the window issue is due to my aftermarket speaker install. I dont see how that could be possible since the window mech. are shielded anyways.

I agree...pitiful. I had a custom enclosure built and have a JL 8 inch sub to put under the passenger rear seat of my crew cab, a 450 Alpine mono to run it is being added to the Bose on Friday. I am keeping everything else stock so i dont have any rattles. It will be more than enough for me, had the same done for my '04 and loved it.
