Fabtech Front End Noise

Recommended Posts

I have been having front end noises for a while now. They haven’t really bothered me but it is really stating to now. I have a Fabtech 6” Lift with duel front steering stabilizer set-up. The noises I am here are when turning time to time (like a popping in the front end) and some times when turning slowly over the lip entering my drive way I hear it. Everything is greased and feels tight. The steering is not lose just this noise is bothering me in a safety way. I notice this more with my winter tires rather than with my 20”s. I came across these Fabtech.

Are these necessary, and is any one using them? Does any one have a clue what the noises might be or where to start looking.

sounds like the ole steering shaft rattle to me. Very common problem with all 99-05 trucks. Supposedly 2 revisions on the shaft and still rattles. Theymake a grease kit but only quiets it down for a bit. Mine's been changed under warranty and lasted 3-5k before the rattle started again. Not a saftey issue but sucks none the less.

I thought it might have been the shocks. So they were replaced 2,000 miles ago and still there.

Has anyone upgraded their Tit-Rods when they lifted their truck? Are the stock one ok for a 6" Lift with 20"s?

I'm using them on my 02 2500 Suburban. The reason my Swaybar is mounted upside down is because these tie rods are made for a Fabtech Lift(Which you have) and mine is an RCD. The Fabtech spindle has a different tie rod mounting position than the RCD and with the RCD the longer Swaybar endlink hits the Tie rod. My setup works just fine and these are really skookum tie rods. Shop around because I've seen a better price than $250.00. Also , these tie rods are rebuildable so they will be the last set you will ever have to buy. When I did my lift I replaced the UCA and LCA bushings with polyurethane and replaced the upper and lower ball joints with Spicer units. Needless to say I don't get any clunks or squeeks from the front end.
