Hi- 07 Yukon w/ park assist- PA has worked fine until today when I pulled a guy out of a snow bank. Used a tow strap on the the safety chain loop of bare hitch. Now get 'Park Assist Off' warning on dash. Manual switch won't work to activate. Any ideas?

wtf is park assist?

Sensors are built-in to the back bumper. When you have the truck in reverse, it'll beep at you when you get close to something. It'll beep more, when you get too close to things. There is also a set of lights, mounted just inside the back window, on the passenger side of the truck, to indicate closeness. The more lights, the closer you are to whatever is causing it to beep.

chiltoncabs : It's probably ice build-up or other debris on the sensors themselves. Try rinsing them off with warm water and drying the bumper and sensors before the water can freeze. See if that helps...

Thanks for the help guys, but figured it out.

I had already knocked all the snow that had accumulated up inside the bumper (over a 5 gal bucketful) and had cleaned the sensors themselves, but was still getting the dash error.

After posting the question , read the manual (duh!) and found out that you have to 'Reset' parking assist by driving over 15 mph with the obstruction cleared. It worked. Thanks Again!
