Fan Motor Only Runs On High!

Got in my truck today and the heater fan three slow speeds don't work, but the high works fine. It 5 degrees and I have to work outside. Anybody knows whats up? I have a 1997 GMC 1500 1/2 ton. Thanks for any suggestions!

Generally when some of the fan speeds are not working and some are, it's the resister (reostat ??) that's attached to the blower motor.

It's not an expensive part and generally easy to change.

I'm sure someone will pipe in with the exact location of it.

Sounds like it's time to replace the blower motor resistor.

Thanks for the pics but my fan points towards the seat not the floor.

Mine went out last week, I replaced the switch that mounts behind the control panel. Took about 15 minutes and I bought the switch from Auto Zone for about $25. Works perfect now.
